On January 24, 2010 I took the Montreal metro as far north as it goes, to the Montmorency stop in Laval. From there I walked the ten kilometers to St-Rose, on the north part of the island, and back.
The commercial complex in the first and second images is named the cité de l'avenir. the word cité in French can mean a number of things, in this instance it means a building development, though it can also mean city. the word l'avenir means the future, which in this instance refers to the name of the street that these builings are on. I liked the fact that taken out of context its name could either mean city of the future or development of the future.
